If you are driving to Oxford and planning to stay for the day then the cheapest places to park are at one of the Oxford Park and Ride services. You will pay 1.50 GBP a day for parking in three of the park and rides (Redbridge, Seacourt and Peartree), the others are FREE to park. You also have to pay 2.70 GBP for the bus into Oxford.
There are 5 Park and Ride services located on the Oxford ring road to the North, South, East and West. You can download a pdf Oxford Park & Ride Timetable by clicking the link.
If you are arriving from the North (Birmingham direction) then use either the Pear Tree or Water Eaton Park and Rides. If you are arriving from the East (London direction) then use the Thornhill Park and Ride. If you are arriving from the South (Newbury direction) then use the Redbridge Park and Ride. If you are arriving from the West (Swindon direction) then use the Seacourt Park and Ride.
Please note that it is not recommended to leave your cars overnight at the Park and Ride as they have no security. If you do need secure overnight parking use Gloucester Green underground car park from 5 GBP per night in the city centre.
Please note if you are arriving in a camper van or other high sided vehicle you need to use Redbridge Park and Ride or Water Eaton Park and Ride as the other sites have height restrictions preventing you from entering! Please see Redbridge and Water Eaton below for further details.
Thornhill Park and Ride, Oxford is the Eastern most car park with very regular buses to the city centre forming part of the park and ride service. This is most appropriate if you are approaching Oxford from London along the M40 to A40 route. This is the best park and ride to use if you are travelling to London by bus.
It takes 15 - 20 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
Peartree is the most northern park and ride car park in Oxford. Regular bus services connect to the city centre. Use this car park if you are approaching Oxford on the A44, A34 from Birmingham or the A40 from the West.
Buses take 10 - 15 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
Redbridge park and ride is the Southern most car park with very regular buses to the city centre. This is most appropriate if you are approaching Oxford from the south along the A34, A4183 or A4074.
Buses takes 8 - 12 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
You can park at this site by the entrance next to Kitchen and Bathroom showroom not via main entrance. The gate is kept locked so please contact a member of staff on arrival.
Seacourt park and ride is the Western most car park. Regular bus services connect to the city centre. Use this car park if you are approaching Oxford from the West along the B4044, A420 or A338.
Buses take 10-15 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
