If you are driving to Oxford and planning to stay for the day then the cheapest places to park are at one of the Oxford Park and Ride services, it is FREE to park, there is no charge to park. You only have to pay for the bus into Oxford.
There are 5 Park and Ride services located on the Oxford ring road to the North, South, East and West. If you are arriving from the North (Birmingham direction) then use either the Pear Tree or Water Eaton Park and Rides. If you are arriving from the East (London direction) then use the Thornhill Park and Ride. If you are arriving from the South (Newbury direction) then use the Redbridge Park and Ride. If you are arriving from the West (Swindon direction) then use the Seacourt Park and Ride. Please note that it is not recommended to leave your cars overnight at the Park and Ride as they have no security. The Park and Ride Services in Oxford are a great way to keep cars out of the City Centre, unfortunately you still have to pay for the bus into Oxford from the Park and Ride. Which can get expensive if there is more than one adult in a car, if Oxford City Council were serious about keeping the cars out of the City Centre the bus service would also be free.
Thornhill Park and Ride is the Eastern most car park with very regular buses to the city centre forming part of the park and ride service. This is most appropriate if you are approaching Oxford from London along the M40 to A40 route. This is the best park and ride to use if you are travelling to London by bus.
It takes 15 - 20 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
This is the most northern park and ride car park in Oxford. Regular bus services connect to the city centre. Use this car park if you are approaching Oxford on the A44, A34 from Birmingham or the A40 from the West.
Buses take 10 - 15 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
Redbridge park and ride is the Southern most car park with very regular buses to the city centre. This is most appropriate if you are approaching Oxford from the south along the A34, A4183 or A4074.
Buses takes 8 - 12 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
Seacourt park and ride is the Western most car park. Regular bus services connect to the city centre. Use this car park if you are approaching Oxford from the West along the B4044, A420 or A338.
Buses take 10-15 minutes to get to Oxford City Centre.
