Cambridge is well connected to Oxford by bus and train. Direct buses run every 30 minutes from 7am to 7pm. The buses take you from the centre of Oxford (Gloucester Green) to the Centre of Cambridge. The journey takes about 3 hours and 20 minutes and costs between 6 and 11 pounds for a return ticket.
If you are arriving or departing from Oxford by coach or public bus you will almost certainly start or finish your journey in the city centre at Gloucester Green, the central bus station. The alternative to taking the coach is to get a train from Oxford railway station to Cambridge railway station. The journey takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes and requires you to change trains 2 times. Firstly you get a train to London Paddington, then get the underground to Londons Kings Cross, then take a train from there to Cambridge. The cost is about 50 pounds for an off peak return ticket.

The alternative to the bus and train is to hire a car, in a car the journey takes about 2 hours and is between 80 and 120 miles depending on the route you take. The quickest route is to go via the major motorways, M40, M25 and the M11. If you are travelling to Oxford by car, you have several options on what to do with your car when you get there. If you are only visiting for the day then it is best to use the Oxford Park and Ride facilities (free parking) located North, South, East and West of the city centre.
