Oxford Night Clubs
Oxford has a reputation for being a bit of a sleepy academic city but these days once the sun goes down there is plenty of night time activity! A number of new clubs have sprung up recently that make the Oxford clubbing scene semi decent. The newest club on the block is the Thirst Tavern which a sister operation to the popular Thirst Bar. Other relatively new clubs include the Bridge on Hythe Bridge Street which is connected to Anuba bar on Park End Street. There are also a number of clubs that have been around for eternity and are still popular including the Old Fire Station on George Street (or OFS as it is often referred to) and the student friendly Purple Turtle on Cornmarket Street. If you are looking for something not so main stream the Cowley Road offers the Zodiac which often features live bands and the Coven II near the Ice Rink has a number of alternate nights. If you just want to browse, the main focus for clubbing is around Park End Street and the parallel road Hythe Bridge Street.
