
National Express operate one direct bus and a number of indirect buses between Glasgow and Oxford each day. The only direct bus departs at 8.15 am and costs 48 GBP. Buses run from the Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow and take 9 hours to make the trip to Oxford. Apart from the direct bus, most buses require that you transfer in either Birmingham or Milton Keynes.

If you are time rich, but cash poor, you could consider taking Megabus to Oxford due to their very cheap fares. You could even save a nights accomodation by taking the overnight bus departing Buchanan Bus Station, Glasgow at 23:00 arriving at London Victoria Coach Station at 7:05 in the morning. The best way to get between Oxford and Glasgow is to take the train as it is the fastest and most comfortable but is often the most expensive. If you book in advance you can get the tickets for as little as 32 GBP for a single or 64 GBP for a return ticket. Strangely it is often cheaper to buy two single tickets than one return ticket. If you are only visiting for the day then it is best to use the Oxford Park and Ride facilities (free parking) located North, South, East and West of the city centre.
