The Fishes Large, recently refurbished (2005) restaurant-pub in a semi-rural location. Outdoor seating on terrace and amongst pine trees - picnic hampers available in summer. The restaurant overlooks the garden and offers adn excellent and commensuately expensive menu.
The Fox Inn Charming riverside pub serving, among other things, draught Perry - a locally-brewed pear cider. Also draught apple cider.
The Trout Inn Rambling riverside pub in the attractive village of Wolvercote, an hours walk across Port Meadow. One will find peacocks, extensive outdoor seating, a pretty bridge joining the terrace to a private garden on the other side of the river. It is VERY popular in summer, especially with students taking visiting parents.
The White Hart, Wytham Superb food (much of it organic, with an emphasis on local produce) in an upmarket rural pub setting. Most who eat there come out with glowing recommendations.
