Parking in Oxford

Car parked in Oxford

There are a number of places to park in Oxford, but sadly there are not many places to park for free. The council heavily encourages you to use the park and ride system rather than use the city centre for parking. Details of on-street parking can be found by clicking here but most operate on a pay and display basis.

If you really need to park in Oxford City Centre then you might be interested to know that the council have recently introduced a new scheme called RINGGO which allows you to pay for parking by mobile phone in Oxford City Centre. Where you see the signs you just dial 01865 989000 with your credit card details. The real beauty of the system is that you can top up your parking if you cant get back to your car and avoid a fine! For details of RINGGO car parking in Oxford click the following link - RingGo Oxford Parking.

Train station car park (490 spaces)

This car park is now operated by Apcoa and is for railway commuters. You can use the pay and display but prices are high. Railway commuters can park all day for 6.50 if they use the new payment system. To park for 6.50 you need to get the Apcoa phone number before you get onto a platform, there are plenty of leaflets in the train station. Once you get onto platform 1 look to your right, there is digital board displaying a number, you will need this number to pay for your parking. All you then need to do is phone Apcoa and make a credit card payment for parking using the number you got from platform 1. Simple and easy to use once you know how.
