The bus service between London and Stansted Airport is is excellent and runs up to every 15 minutes 24 hours a day. You can book a return fare from 5.50 GBP each way a booking fee of 1.00 GBP will be added. There are two main routes, one to London Victoria Coach Station (80 minutes) and the other to London Liverpool Street Station (45 minutes). Buses depart from Stansted Airport bus and coach station which is opposite the main terminal entrance and arrive at London Victoria coach station. The bus stops at other locations including London including Buckingham Palace Road, Marble Arch, Gloucester Place, Baker Street, Lords Cricket Ground, Finchley Road Station and Golders Green Station.
The bus from London to Stansted is normally cheaper than the train (11 GBP for an advanced return fare compared to approx 29 GBP for the train). This route is very popular and can be very crowded so it is advisable to book on-line in advance to secure the best fares. Other bus companies operating from Stansted Airport to Central London include EasyBus, Terravision. Terravision and EasyBus both have ticket kiosks at Stansted Airport but you can also buy tickets on-line.

Trains from London to Stansted run from London Liverpool Street Station. There is also a railway station directly beneath Stansted Airport with direct connections to Liverpool Street station in London where you can change for the London Underground. Train services run every 15 minutes during peak times and cost 20 GBP for an advanced single and 29 GBP for an advanced return.

With British trains it is advisable to book in advance to secure the best fare. Tickets can be posted to you or you can pick up your advance tickets from a machine at the station. If you have a very early flight from Stansted Airport or arrive late you may wish to spend a night at a hotel near the Airport.

With prices from as little as 35 GBP per night (cheaper than London!) it is worth considering.
