The bus service between London Stansted Airport and London 2012's Olympic Games stop, Stratford Station, the main transport interchange station for the Olympic games, is cheap and frequent. You can book an advanced single fare from 8 GBP with an additional booking fee of 1.00 GBP. Buses depart from Stansted Airport bus and coach station which is opposite the main terminal entrance and arrive at Stratford's main Olympic bus station which is just a short walk away from most of the London Olympic venues. Although most events are in the Stratford area other locations are being used so check Olympic venues before you plan your route.

If you are looking for the cheapest route to get between Stansted Airport and London 2012 or wish to pass through Central London you might find it more economic to use EasyBus or Terravision to get to Central London. Fares start from just 1 GBP one way if you book far enough in advance but demand is likely to be high during the Olympics. Terravision and EasyBus both have ticket kiosks at Stansted Airport but you can also buy tickets online in advance. Once in central London you can take either a bus or London Underground to get to the Olympic Village at Stratford.

Stansted Airport to London by Train (46 mins 29 GBP)


London 2012 Railway station

Trains from Stansted to London run from beneath Stansted Airport to London Liverpool Street Station. Train services run every 15 minutes during peak times and cost 22.50 GBP for an advanced single and 29 GBP for an advanced return. From Liverpool Street Station take the London Underground (Central Line) to Stratford. Its just a short walk from the station to the Olympic Village for London 2012.


With British trains it is advisable to book in advance to secure the best fare. Tickets can be posted to you or you can pick up your advance tickets from a machine at the station.
