Stansted Airport to Gatwick by bus (3hr 05 mins 33 GBP)
As there is no direct train service between Stansted Airport and Gatwick Airport the most convenient route is to take the bus. The bus service between London Stansted Airport and Gatwick is very regular and runs once an hour, 24 hours a day. You can book a single ticket for about 33 GBP one way a booking fee of 1.00 GBP will also be added. Buses depart from Stansted Airport bus and coach station which is opposite the main terminal entrance and arrive beneath the terminal in the car park below Gatwick Airport. If you are looking for the cheapest route to get between Stansted and Gatwick or wish to spend the day in Central London you might find it more economic to use EasyBus or Terravision to get to Central London and then take another of their services to Gatwick. Fares start from just 1 GBP one way if you book far enough in advance. Terravision and EasyBus both have ticket kiosks at Stansted Airport but you can also buy tickets online in advance.
Stansted Airport to Gatwick Airport by Train (1hr 56mins 34 GBP)
The train works out faster than taking the bus between Stansted and Gatwick but is more difficult because you need to change trains and navigate the London underground with any luggage you may have. Trains leave Stansted approximately evey 15 minutes from directly under the airport for Liverpool Street station in London. From here you take the London Underground to Farringdon station to get another train to Gatwick. The train arrives at Gatwick beneath the airport itself with easy transfer to the North or South terminals.
With British trains it is advisable to book in advance to secure the best fare. Tickets can be posted to you or you can pick up your advance tickets from a machine at the station.
