Edinburgh's Train Station - Waverley Station

Edinburgh Waverley Station

Edinburgh Waverley train station, also known locally as just "Waverley" is the main railway station in the Scottish capital Edinburgh. It is the second largest railway station in the UK after London Waterloo in terms of area. The station is the terminus of the East Coast Main Line and for the Edinburgh branch of the West Coast Main Line. The main routes from Edinburgh are to the south and London or the West and Glasgow. For more details of train times and prices click the button below:

Train fares are more complicated than they need to be in the UK, and if you just turn up at the station without booking a ticket you are likely to pay more than double what you need too. To get the cheapest train fares it is better to book in advance and travel during non peak times. For example the single fare from London to Edinburgh can vary an amazing amount - between 41 over 100 GBP depending on whether you just turn up at the station or book online in advance.

If you purchase your tickets online, you can either have them sent to you or collect them from the automated ticket machines at Oxford station, just remember to bring the credit or debit card you booked them with to the station and the reference number you have been emailed or you will not be able to pick them up.
