Arthur's Seat Edinburgh
Arthur's Seat Edinburgh
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and is set in a truly spectacular location, with a backdrop of a large limestone rock outcrop, know as Arthur's rock. Famed for its beautiful Georgian architecture, historic castle and exciting annual fringe festival, Edingburgh is worth a stop on even the busiest itinerary.

Located in the south-east of Scotland and approximately 380 miles (610 km) north of London it is well connected to the rest of the UK by train and bus and also has its own national and international airport. When travelling to Edinburgh from London and other parts of the United Kingdom you will most likely be travelling by bus or by train. Most major bus routes will take you into Edinburgh bus station. If you are travelling by train Edinburgh's station could not be more centrally located in the city centre.

If you are visiting Edinburgh for the first time there are some attractions that should not miss, Edinburgh Castle is one of them. The first castle on this spot is believed to have been established in the 12th century and has evolved ever since. The castle can be seen from most of the city and accessed by the famous Royal Mile, a street that leads up to the castle from the city. A more recent popular tourist attraction is the Scottish Parliament, an recently built modern architectural design that caused much controversy due to its unusual design and large budget.
