Photo of the Ruskin Gallery

The Ruskin Gallery is located on the Anglia Ruskin University site. The Gallery is open to the public and offers exhibitions and a glimpse into artists' studios. A stunning building, the Gallery has vaulted veilings and is very light and airy and houses all types of exhibitions, from the traditional to high-tech. The Gallery's up to date Bose sudio system and digital technology offer the most state of the art viewing experience. There is a photography gallery on the lower floor and interactive touch-screen information points within the building. Photo of the New Hall Art Collection

The New Hall Art Collection is a permanent exhibition art by women artisits. Founded in 1986, the collection has grown to over 400 works including sculptures, paintings and prints. The Collection is housed in the Grade II listed Murray Edwards College. Some rooms may be closed due to other events. Tours lasting around one hour are available Monday - Friday for groups of up to 30 people and cost 3 GBP per head before 17:00 and 5 GBP per head after 17:00.

Photo of the Williams Art

Williams Art displays original commercial and non-commercial work by leading artists. Many of the works being exhibited are for sale. Exhibitions are refreshed every 2-3 weeks. There is a special 'Quite Hour' for art-lovers from 18:00 - 19:00 on Wednesday and Thursday. Details of current and forthcoming exhibitions are available on the Williams Art website.

Photo of the Wysing Art Collection

Wysing Arts Centre was founded in 1989 and comprises ten buildings including a large gallery, education facilities, live work space and specialist new media facilities. The site is located in the village of Bourne, nine miles from Cambridge. Wysing is a working site, focusing on production and education. Wysing also offers international residencies with a variety of themes, during which participants are accommodated in a 17th Century farmhouse. The Centre is open from 12:00 - 17:00 during exhibition times, the details of which can be found at the website. During non-exhibition periods, Wysing opens for talks, music events and family activities. The rural grounds are open at all times for picnics. Whilst there is no cafe on site, all visitors are offered tea and coffee, and there are a number of eateries in the village.

Photo of the Byard Art

Byard Art is the the centre of Cambridge, opposite King's College Chapel. The gallery arranges a variety of exhibitions in a very pleasant and friendly environment. Byard Art was established in 1993 when it was located on the top floor of a Victorian lace factory, and relocated to Cambridge in 1998, initially in smaller premises, before moving to its current location. With space of over 1200 square feet, The Gallery holds permanent collections and visiting exhibitions. The Gallery is manned by knowledgeable staff who will offer assistance and answer any questions. Art is available to purhcase, although visitors are more than welcome to just browse, and the Gallery is happy to source particular artists upon request. Photo of the Primavera Arts and Crafts

Primavera is located opposite King's College in the heart of Cambridge. Both a Gallery and a Shop, Primavera displays paintings, textiles, sculptures, glass items, ceramics, jewellery and more. The Gallery also holds a number of temporary exhibitions, the details of which can be found on the website's Events section. Primavera was found by Henry Rothschild in 1946, when it was located in Sloane Street, London. During the 1940s the Gallery specialised in stoneware, pottery and tableware and also started to stock furniture. In 1953 the Gallery held its first exhibition of pottery and then hosted a wide variety of events, including various international works. In 1999 the Gallery opened in Cambridge and now shows work primarily by British artists. Thousands of items can be viewed at the Gallery, and there is also a smaller online shop on the website.
