Bath Spa Railway station is located in Bath city centre next to the SouthGate shopping centre. It can be accessed from Manvers Street and is a short walk to central Bath. The station is next to the new bus station, (completed in 2009).
Bath Spa station has regular train services to London Paddington via Swindon & Reading and to Bristol Temple Meads. It is also served by the Cardiff to Portsmouth and Bristol to Weymouth regional trains and a limited service to London Waterloo via Salisbury and Basingstoke.
The main train operators operating out of Bath Spa station are First Great Western Trains and South West Trains.
Train fares are quite complicated in the UK, and if you just turn up at the station without booking a ticket you are likely to pay more than double what you need too. To get the cheapest train fares it is better to book in advance and travel during non peak times (after 9:30 am). For example the single fare from London to Bath can vary an amazing amount - between 4 GBP and 31 GBP depending on whether you just turn up at the station or book online in advance.
